This is a smudging chimney in Nebula, a soft, speckled clay that reveals depth and texture after firing. Slightly larger than other chimneys, with a shallower top, it holds Palo Santo or White Sage chips for a long-lasting, fuller, and more robust smoke. The side opening guides the smoke upward, allowing you to move it from room to room with ease. Its grounded, tactile presence makes every smudging ritual intentional, calming, and immersive.
Nebula — Smudging Chimney
Each piece is wheel-thrown, hand-sculpted, hand-painted, and uniquely finished by Spencer Elizabeth. Every ceramic vessel is bisque fired at 1850°F, glazed, dried, and then fired again at 2230°F to achieve its final form. Depending on the technique and complexity, completing a single piece can take one to two weeks, allowing time for careful painting, drying, and multiple firings.
Every vessel is one of a kind — subtle variations and imperfections are part of its natural beauty, giving each piece its own character. This multi-step, time-intensive, and humbling process is both challenging and deeply rewarding, and a grounding practice for the artist. Each mug, bowl, or vessel is crafted to bring elegance, mindfulness, and serenity to your daily rituals.
