Each piece from The Grounding Studio is made by Spencer Elizabeth and thoughtfully handcrafted to embody both artistry and intention. She begins by throwing the clay on the wheel, allowing it to reach the ideal dryness before carefully trimming, refining, and stamping each form. Following the initial bisque firing, every piece is hand-painted with precision and then glaze-fired to ensure it is food safe. This deliberate process unfolds over the course of several days, allowing each stage the time and attention it deserves.
Due to the nature of handmade ceramics, each piece is unique, and slight variations are to be celebrated. This time-honored, labor-intensive process is both challenging and deeply rewarding.
